Ok, here's the situation: I have a fully retail purchased copy of HalfLife 2/Counter-Strike: Source registered and what not on my non cheating steam account. What I want to do is take that same Retail CD, Install it on a different computer, then find a CD-Key, then register that copy under my cheating steam account, is it safe to do so? I am worried that the steam system will find out somehow that this Retail CD was installed previously on a different system using a different CD-Key, like as if it was checking the files/Actual CD to see if it matches the CD-Key I entered or what not.
