I'm not on a mac actually, just saving up to get one hehe. Right now I'm running a p4 2.8ghz /w 533 FSB, 512DDR RAM, 80GB HD, Sound Blaster Audigy, and GeForce 5200 FX (256mg PCI). Its not a bad computer, it works decent and I'll definitely keep it for gaming, but I'm still getting an apple :dfinger:

I agree with the AMD being way better for gaming and stuff along those lines, theres simply no argument there. However, regarding the quality/performance of apple, you have to take into consideration what you get for what you pay. Where I live in Canada, its about 1100 dollars for an AMD 64bit fx55 chip. Thats just the CPU alone. So even though AMD does kick ass, its high end stuff is barely affordable. For an apple though, they are expensive, but still affordable in comparison to an fx55 system. For a multimedia machine, intel does have its advantages, but I would rather have an apple as they tend to be the industry standard for multimedia design. 2500 cdn will buy you a very nice apple. That amount of money would also buy you a very nice Intel/Pentium based PC. A PC based on an AMD 64 bit fx55 however, would cost way more, as the top of the line AMD parts are still overpriced. Yes you do get what you pay for, but not too many people are going to be willing to cough up 1100 CDN dollars for just the CPU. Overall, AMD does make great processors, but the price needs to go way down. Multimedia/Web Design - Apple General Computing/Low end gaming - Intel/Pentium High End Gaming/Performance - AMD (needs to be more affordable though)

Depends what you need a PC for. For a person interested in gaming, definitely go PC. Even for common business/school work, go with a PC. For high-end graphics and multimedia, web design, and other professional applications along those lines, its all about apple. Overall, apples do process a lot faster then PCs. Even though the listed processor speeds of apples are slower (fastest apple processor out right now is a 2.5ghz i believe), they have faster bus speeds, more cache, etc, thus making them overall faster then intel/AMD processors.
