From the last count (which is admittedly almost a year ago), there were only 300,000 users, and I doubt that that number has septoupled in less than a year. This is in contrast to ed2k's last count of 750,000, which was 2 years ago.

Soulseek has probably 1/1000th of the files ed2k has I've never even heard of Ares so Im going to assume it sucks ass ed2k has millions of files per server, and tens of thousands of servers. It's the most used filesharing network out there, by a longshot. Theres no doubt that ed2k is the best network out there.

Direct Connect sucks huge fucking ass, it's the worst thing to happen to the internet since AIM. Go get a real man's FS client, like ed2k. Also who uses aim anyways, IRC and ICQ are the de-facto for online chat.
