yeah i guess that would work BUT the school administrators PC's are in a room under the dorms and its always locked and they never coem out. i guess i could bind it to something but you never know. i have heard that you can play games throught proxies and i havent really found a good way to do it yet.

its not a joke dude AOL really does act like a tunnel for my school network so stop flexing your e-ego and stop trolling (thanks for the links ill look later) *EDIT* i dont need links to view webpages because i got around the school filters but i cant seem to play games online yet (although proxify is sweet)

can someone explain how i can do this to play games throught the firewall? (sorry if its a n00bish question but i have never had to do it before and i am still googling it but any help would be nice)

basically the AOL client runs as a serverside app and works as a tunnel..sadly i still can play online games until i figure out the proxy situation but i can still download torrents and such so i guess im gonna be playing single player games until i learn how to play BF2 through a proxy. So my school network blocks all sorts of stuff including sites on violence, guns, sex, P2P ect... it also blocks online gaming and shit...i figured that i was gonna try tunneling and some other things when a guy down the hall says "just install AOL freetrial" and see what happens so i did and wouldnt you know it...AOL basically is a tunnel in and of itself...i dont actually use their services but i thought that if you were having problems with your school firewall you might wanna try this. it worked for me... :rolleyes:

Not usually but even if you are its like a week long ban unlike STEAMS 2-3 year bans...And even if you do get banned from PB servers you can still play multiplayer just not in ranked games. PB>STEAM

ok so here is my delima. i own a legit copy of hl2 and i can play hl2. but my schools firewall blocks online gaming and also the steam client has to be used in "ofline mode" this sucks because i only unlocked the HL2 game files and i didnt get a chance to unlock the CS:S files but i wanted to play with bots (mostly to test shit and the fact that i have nothing better to do) does anyone know of a good steam emulator that dosent need to connect to a server to play the games?
