Looks great so far. I'll disagree that the proportions are wrong. Actually, I'll agree there. That said, they may be slightly off, but the look good as is, imo. Post the final piece obviously. I hope you plan to back it in landscape? That'd look nice.

Depends what kind of sleeping pills. Benzodiazepine's tend to do little lasting damage. Wouldn't be a good bet anyways. You could always take a whole bottle of Tylenol, but APAP poisoning isn't really the best way to go.... liver failure can't be pleasant, and you won't be dead too quick. IV an entire syringe of air.
