Susan : Welcome to Technical Support Live Chat ! How can I help you?
Roy : Sorry i think i got disconnected
Roy : Could you explain to me what ftp is?
Susan : File transfer protocol.
Roy : My friend said i needed to get an ftp client to be able to use it
Roy : is this correct?
Susan : Yes
Roy : Do you have to buy ftp clients or are they free? Can you get them off the internet?
Susan : You can download several shareware programs, just do a search for ftp shareware on Google. I'd probably recommend something like CuteFTP or WS_FTP
Roy : Ok, thnank you Susan. One more thing, i am trying to sort out the webmail service thing and i am having problems.
Susan : OK
Susan : what kind of problem and what's the name of your site ?
Roy : Well i have never used email before and my website is http://www.potty.org
Susan : OK, just a sec
I dont think she noticed what http://www.potty.org was :owned:
Susan : potty.org doesn't appear to be hosted with Apollo, and the DNS servers are not ours.
Roy : hmmm well i hope my friend set it up correctly
Roy : he did say it was this hosting company
Susan : Do you know what type of account it was ?
Susan : or is ?
Roy : he said it was the cheapest, i think the value plan or something
Roy : it seems to be running alright...
Susan : That makes sense, for that type of account you'd access webmail by going to webmail.potty.org. Should bring up a page that says Horde and a login
Susan : But wait, I don't see your website name on our Plesk account .Your DNS severs are c.ns.joker.com, b.ns.joker.com and a.ns.joker.com. Those aren't Apollo's servers, must be your old hosting company, until that is changed your webmail or website won't work
Roy : i see, how do i change them?
Susan : well your site will work off your old hosting but email won't
Susan : It has to be done through your registrar. I'm checking to see who that was ...
Roy : I think there is some infomation regarding that on the main homepage
Susan : If you fo to this site http://dnsstuff.com/tools/whois.ch?ip=potty.org that tells you who owns that domain name and who the registrar is. The registrar is who has to change your DNS servers
Susan : You should know who registered your domain name, you had to pay them
Roy : well my friend is the one paying so he has the infomation
Roy : i am too young to use a credit card
Susan : Then he probably has the login information you'll need to to chage your dns server.
Susan : As it stands right now, I see no account with us.
Susan : An this chat line is restricted to Apollo customer only
Roy : Oh ok i am very sorry to waste your precious time, maybe you could take a break and look at my site. Goodbye...and btw OWNED!!!
