When i was 6 my family and i were hiking up by mount st. helens or mount adams, i don't remember. i saw a guy jump off of a cliff, he didn't die immediately he died about 30 minutes later on a picnic table. I didn't know what was going on, he was fat and looked funny, and me and my sister thought he was jumping off the rock as a joke so we were laughing the entire time. No pictures unfortunately, picture phones hadn't been invented yet.

i am a fan of the misfits... but i've never heard of any bands being inspired by them...

Well if you say it like that, there are a ton of "rock" bands that might not fit into the genre. I never said Led Zeppelin is just rock either, jimmy page was, to me, the greatest song writer in all of history. What i'm saying is that if you were to list your favorite rock bands and your favorite band is Led Zeppelin, i don't see why not say led zeppelin. I mean sure, they aren't a ted nugent or metallica where as they don't play pretty much just one type of music. And there aren't many of their songs which don't have Rock or Blues, so if i had to sum it up i would put it in Rock/Blues. At the same time i'm not saying they weren't much more, i've been obsessed with Led Zeppelin for years and i still can't get over them. Besides, Led Zeppelin did after all pretty much invent metal or hard rock...

There are alot of posts in this thread saying that led zeppelin isn't rock because led zeppelin is blues/rock. Even though when Rock n' Roll originated it was just the same thing as Rhythm and Blues, but made buy a couple of white guys to make a couple bucks. At the time RnB was what you listened to if you were black, Rock if you were white. Elvis Presley, while not a bad musician, wasn't at all original. If any body invented "Rock" it was chuck berry and to say chuck berry had no blues is a complete lie. Blues is the root of all branches of "Rock". Don't forget the past you whores, lamb of god and trivium to ryan adams and dashboard confessional, its all a branch of RnB.
