I meant to say BS to this earlier but i forgot so BS! I see shitty PC's sold on eBay with a whole hell of alot less for alot more. To be able to buy just those games in a single lot and not have half of them be shitty 10 year old games is a + right there. Like i said in a later post (which i admit i should have been more specific) I might be downgrading some aspects but im upgrading some at the same time. So again i havent read up on Intel but from what ive heard there GHZ is different from AMD so a 2.5 Intel is like a 3.0 AMD but i could be wrong. But i really really what to go Intel, building PC's is pretty much my hobby so im all for a complete overhaul.

I dont mean a huge downgrade. Plus ill also upgrade at the same time. Im really just wanting a new rig and i wanna go Intel this time since ive never messed with them and they seem to be really good. Im looking at new everything at i at about 12 - 1300$ including new mouse, keyboard etc... I might just put it on eBay with a high reserve and see how high the bids get.

Might wanna check the ram. I had a bunch of blue screens with error messages from dxdiag, nivida, graphics crap etc... ANd it was a bad stick of ram. Plus if you're using 3 sticks and they're all different it can fuck with dual channel etc etc. Take out a stick or 2 and see if that does anything. Whats probably giving you the problems? Vista or not having DX10?

Jedi or somebody can move this if they want. Do you have to have a Dual Layer burner and DL discs to burn TV shows? Is there a program that can shrink them down and fit the entire disc (menus, subtitles etc..) onto a regular 4.7gb (?) disc? Also a second part to this question. I have however ordered the complete OZ series off of Ebay and its exactly the same on this site. So any details as to whether this site is good or bad? If not any sites you can recommend that are similar and are trustworthy? LOL nice recommendation and name. I just bought a controller but i decided to keep my Saitek for the time being. I bought this: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16826169003 It was about 10$ after the rebate and all, and its ok. Its just that i dont have enough room for it on my desk so ive used it and i like it but just no room. One thing i dont like (which im sure theres a setting for it somewhere) But my key bindings are basically the exact same as on my keyboard. I cant switch them around or have them different. Probably just a setting but i havent had time to mess with it.

A 20$ case would just be a flimsy mid tower case that would just fall apart after a month. Corsair is a good brand but Value select ram isnt all that great, even tho the cost of it is super low. What you listed is going to last maybe 6 months at the most before he would have to do a complete upgrade which would cost even more money than he's already spending. Like i said, really no need for an 8800 right now. Only a few games are capable of actually using all its power. Unless he does photoshop or video editing to a very high degree not much use for it. And a "cheapo" motherboard is a bad idea. Most cheap MB's have no overclocking at all, plus they're jsut badly built because they're so cheap. Like bad placement of connectors or just shitty parts. Plus its just my opinion but Corsair is known for their Ram, nothing else. Buying brand names that are producing other parts other than what they're known just ends up a mistake. Its the same as buying an Asus VGA. Asus is a great MB brand but i wouldn't buy any other kind of product from them.

Oh and also, if you CAN wait, subscribe to newegg and tigerdirect etc... They have great deals sometimes. Newegg had a 550w (maybe 500w) free after a mail in rebate. So if you can wait and see what deals are coming closer to Christmas, that is if you're in the US. EDIT: And you might want to look into a FULL tower case. Its a little bigger but it has more room for wires, and it helps the airflow. Also have you thought about the cooling? The one you picked only has 2, 1 80 and 1 120. Mine has 5 120's and i still wish i had a water cooling system. With what you have picked out you need more cooling just to keep it stable.

Right now since DX10 games = maybe 3 then theres really no need for an 8800. Unless you just want to keep up with the "new" games that are sure to be coming out within the next 3 years. Off the top of my head the only games made Dx10 capable are UT3, Crysis, and Cod4. But im not even sure if Cod4 is DX10 capable. Plus there are rumors that a NEW series (8900) is coming out. Before you blow 300+ on an 8800 you might want to check out the compatibility it has with ALL games new and old. But like Jedi said, maybe take away from the VGA and go with a better Processor. Video Cards are being built and outdated every month so go with a 7900 or 7950 and that will last another 6 months to a year and put the extra cash towards a better CPU. Just to show you what i mean, my specs: Amd 5600 2.8 ghz AM2 skt Gigabyte M55sli-s4(rev 2.0) 2 gb Ocz reaper DDr2 800 XFX 7900GT Vista Ultimate And i can run ANY game! I can run FEAR on MAX everything with around 50-60 FPS. I ran the Crysis Demo on Medium and FPS more than 60. I play TF2 and UT2k4 all the time with FPS well over 70. With UT2004 i get over 100. UT3 im sure at high settings is over 50. So you dont need an 8800 atm. Unless you just really WANT one. Having an 8800 now is like having a Blue ray or HD DVD player. Theres no need because nothing has been produced for any of them. So unless you're willing to wait, i would buy a lower end card and go towards a better CPU. I know nothing about PSU's so you might want to look into that if you're goinh to upgrade heavily soon.
