Sure, us bombing them will cause unrest and may even cause more people to become terrorists, but these people will only be able to pull off petty little bus bombings and such. Back to Iraq: It is known that Iraq was a safe haven for taliban and al qeada members as well as sympathizers. Saddam and Bin Laden both share their hatred for the U.S., and eventually WOULD have worked together whether you'd like to convince yourself or not. Saddam funded international terrorism, giving money to families of suicide bombings and who knows what else. In conclusion, military response is the ONLY option for us. We can't just stand back and let shit happen to us without bombing shit up. How many major terrorist attacks have happened in America since 2001? Zero. I rest my case.

Not true at all. I know this is on a tangent to the thread, but here's my take on bush's policies on the economy. First off, tax cuts mainly to the wealthy is not a very good way to revitalize the economy for one reason. Giving the VAST majority of cash to the top 1 percent socio-economic class is not going to give the middle class a very good opprotunity to spend this mystery cash. Giving people money who don't need it won't encourage more spending on a large enough scale to magically cause a rebound in the economy. Second, as more and more jobs are outsourced to countries like India, more and more people LOSE their jobs in the united states, thus making it harder for these "consumers" of yours to spend cash, something they get from having a JOB. Who supports outsourcing jobs to third world countries to only benefit the tops of corporations? George W. Bush. Third, what kind of people cannot understand the hardships endured by lower class people? REALLY FUCKING RICH PEOPLE. While both kerry and bush come from wealthy families, at least Kerry is willing to aknowledge people who haven't been born with a silver spoon in their mouth, and in Bush's case, an absent brain. Yes, consumers do make a difference, but the president plays a strong role in allowing us to make a difference. If kerry's "10 million job" plan is legit, he has my vote. Vote GOP for graft war and recession.

While I'm glad I made an impression, it isn't really liberal idealism that isn't congruent with our actions in Iraq, rather I think it's just a mechanism to get them into power in the executive branch. They just want a democratic president, I bet a lot of them believe in what we're doing but wouldn't applaud a republican president's actions for fear of ostricization from their own party. I don't really think of myself as supportive of one blood sucking party or another, but I hope to god Kerry gets elected so we can do something with this economy and this god damned deficit staring our generation in the face while greedy senior citizens live in decadence, but that's a topic for a whole nother discussion.

Insightful comment, but lets ponder this: The hostility exhibited by bush towards Al-Qieada was not present pre-september 11th, 2001. What happened? A HUGE FUCKING ATTACK. Let's measure the outcome in terms of motive and means, first the motive: Destroying an entire countries government (Afghanistan's taliban) which was just a puppet for Saudi Interests in training psychopaths to carry out highly complicated terrorist attacks on a large scale isn't the most morale boosting situation. Imagine this. Someone bombs every major recruit training base in America, killing not only recruits but the highly skilled professionals training them. Where and how do you start over? For the Al-Qieada, the answer might have been in Iraq until we went in and destroyed THAT government too. All in all, what we are doing in the middle east is making it MUCH more difficult to adequetly train the brainwashed camel jockies willing to blow theirselves to pieces in the name of a monotheistic complex called Islam. Secondly, the means. You need certain things to carry out a terrorist mission. One of those things is accessable central leadership, which Al-Qieada's cell system still relies on to an extent. Another thing is money. One way to get that money was the opium trade which the taliban and Al-Qieada were deeply involved in. When one resource becomes unavailable or more scarce, you need another. Perhaps Saddam's oil? You decide. Much more importantly, in order to INFILTRATE a country, you need to target a bunch of stupid white people who let nearly anyone in their borders (America pre 9/11) and you can't have their intelligence orginazations too worried about you (again, America 9/11). If you are an islamic extremist, and you somehow manage to get in the country, when you're taking flight lessons people won't just sit back and wonder why you're only interested in flight, and neither takeoff nor landing. Post 9/11 America isn't the easiest place in which to plan and carry out a major terrorist attack. If sitting back and not being aggressive with a people who think blowing yourself up to allah is sexy doesn't work before a large terrorist attack, it sure as hell is not going to work after one. I'm kind of scared that you think appeasement will somehow help our situation. Here's my (final)solution: Lock our borders to anyone who is from Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Sudan, Qatar (our "allies"), palestine, Pakistan, and any other country that has a bunch of people wearing turbans and who want to take the world back to the 1100s. Anywhere where the government is specifically designed to oppress it's own people, anywhere where the amount of literate people are greatly outnumbered by people who know how to operate a rocket propelled grenade launcher. If another terrorist attack comes from ANY of these countries, use intelligence to track down any country possibly involved and blow it to shit, annex it after the fires go out, and call the region New Texas.

Heh, I'm a comp sci student, and let me tell you, classes are much better. This is also a very simple program in retrospect, when I get back to chicago I can dig up some graphical shit I've done in java.

It's much more like c++, same syntax and everything, but it's platform independant..... and a tad slower running. I know c++ as well. Java can be run simply as a class (on the hard drive) or as an applet (on a web page) the difference is mainly in the restrictions imposed on applets (no accessing the system etc) but for this programs purposes you could make it an applet.
