Garry's Mod. It's a mod that allows for you to mess with the physics of the Source Engine. Servers are allowed to run custom scripts that, for example: Create new game modes, new guns, pretty much anything you can think of. So, capitalizing on this custom script feature, people have begun (Not that it's a new thing) to make "viruses" which do various things.

That is why we compress the video, sir. I'd recommend VirtualDub for a small project like this. I can help you with that later on if you don't understand it... EDIT: There are some other, easier, programs to use, I have just grown fond of this one (Making it seem easy to me...). EDIT2: Not sure how easy this is but, people say this is pretty easy too. voice_enable 1 If that doesn't work try messing with the volume in the options. When all else fails save the binds you want to keep and delete your config. From then on make your config read-only.

So you're saying that when they connect it deletes their files and stuff, right? Did you test it on anyone except for yourself? How do you expect us to help when you didn't post a file. PS: Commas work wonders.

I suppose you could write a script which makes people download a file then execute it once the map loads. I would have no idea how to do this though, the only thing I know about LUA scripting is the syntax... EDIT: After a little research, it turns out that you can actually call to write and open files and whatnot. Also, you probably won't be able to delete the scripts while the game is running (Havn't tryed any such thing though). The only way for them to download such a script is if you have someone come into your Listen server, other than that your out of luck.

Yeah, i'm not really too sure what happened either, I havn't been able to duplicate what happened. But I sort of have a knack for accidently breaking fighters... But yeah, I guess the final project for a class makes sense, just wasn't too sure if that was actually the situation.

Wow, I guess I really didn't know how to script for Source that well at all... I always forget all the changes they made. I should really get a better computer so I can play it better.

I tryed playing your game and somehow I managed to make myself fall through the paino and off the stage itself... How many people tested this? (Also, you packaged d3dx9_25.dll instead of the d3dx9_30.dll that the game requires. Was that the latest version on your site?) I also didn't really need that large explanation on how fighting games work though. I'm actually a large fan of 2-D fighters (You can tell by my sig) and have made a few myself... but in Flash (lol). You still didn't tell me why you created it though, you just said you "pitched" it so I assume you're trying to sell this to someone?

Yeah, you're right. I generally don't script for Source but will upon request or if i'm bored... Thanks for correcting that and sorry about the mistake, like i've said before, I don't play Source. :happysad:

It's a dedicated server, you configure the server through FTP access.
