I got HLSS to work for 1.6
Here is what you do.
Point the directory to C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\steam email name\counter-strike\cstrike
Then, instead of choosing CS under mod, choose other. Then bind the buttons and put your songs in and it should work as usual.
