I also believe he doesn't want to swap in a motor and turbo it, after he spent XXX much money fixing the car. I've driven every year of the GTi, and the only two worth buying are the mkII (1985-1992) and the mkV (current). But you don't want a mkII because they aren't new. So between the cooper S and the GTi, honestly, i would take the cooper S. I've driven a cooper S and all the GTi's, and i just prefer the mini. Of course i enjoy small, unpractical vehicles. not really, the ls1 goes in just about everything. 240's, rx-7's, miata's, s10's, i mean people swap the hell out of them. It's kinda like seeing a supra with one big turbo instead of two 'small' ones, while it may be fast it isn't real impressive. Are you impressed when you see a top fuel dragster run 5's? Not really...because that's just what they do. It's sort of the same thing, it's just common.

Figured, most people don't buy a 2.0 to make it quick ;) But if you want some mpg, the jetta TDi gets right at 50mpg. I know hybrids do get a few more mpg, but the thing is the TDi is a diesel engine and it's tried and true and everybody understands what's going on, while a hybrid engine is relatively new and you could really only take it to that maker's dealership for diagnosis.

Uhhh... mod #1: swap in a vr6 or a 1.8t the AEG motor (i believe that's whats in the jetta, otherwise it's an AVH or AZG) is WEAK. Its utterly useless, 115hp/122ft-lbs, and it's an 8v. The motor in the 90-93 cars, the 9a motor (2.0l 16v) made 134hp/133ft-lbs, and that was in cars that were 700lbs lighter and 10 years ago. I say forget the 2.slow and trade it in for a new car, or don't even bother modding it. The most you're going to get out of it is about 150. and PLEASE if you start to mod it, remember, the air filter is going to be the LAST mod you do, so don't run out to auto zone and buy yourself a k&n 'cold air' intake. Because i guarantee on a stock motor, it will only decrease your horsepower.

I like how you did springs but not struts, I like how your engine 'mods' consist of the most basic of the basic (i bet it took a lot of effort to put that intake on there), I bet that rear spoiler REALLY helps with all that down force (which you need since you probably make 350+ at the wheels, in a FWD car)....You should have spent all the money you put into that SwEeT BoDy KiT, and bought something worth a damn. Do you REALLY think, FX could design body parts for your car that were BETTER than what a team of factory engineers produced? Do you really think that with your STOCK motor, that your intake box was the problem? I mean, you're basically saying that 100 mazda engineers were so stupid, they couldn't design the BEST intake box for their stock motor. And that this company was able to design a BETTER intake for your car, in probably 4 hours. Yea right. An intake is something you do, AFTER you've modified the engine, not before. It's kinda like when trucks put their tail gates down, because they think the toyota engineers 'overlooked' that fact that there's a tailgate in the wind tunnel. Mythbusters did a thing on it, and found out that with the tailgate down you actually lose about 2mpg. ...so yea, you're car looks like ass, probably drives like ass, and i know it sounds like ass. I wasn't racist before, but after living with a black guy for a year, I think i may be becoming racist. A man can only take so much B.E.T, and all he listens to is rap, and rap isn't even that good. I enjoy probably 13% of all rap music made, and he only listens to the other 87%, and he'll do it over and over and over again, and he memorizes all the words so when his other black friends come over he can rap the song to them without the music, and then they can all make stereotypical black comments about it and laugh. B.E.T is not funny! I have never laughed once at anything i have ever seen on B.E.T, it's a terrible terrible station and needs to be shut down immediatly. I hate b.e.t and everything it stands for, i hate people who watch b.e.t, products whos commericals appear on b.e.t, i hate the people who build the networks so that b.e.t can be spread, and i hate the cable companies for allowing the b.e.t channel to come through. ...is that bad?
