If you live in a city where MONGOL is playing, go see it! It is EPIC! It is about the life of Ghengis Khan. I have heard it is going to be a trilogy(the ending supports this idea, and I hope they make 2 more because this one is so good.) This is the first movie I have recommended people actually go pay to see in a long time. It owns. Had a few kind of slow parts, but picks up quickly. Good story, good action, good everything. You guys are probably thinking of the wrong kind of homeless person. Maybe it was some 24 year old douche bag living with his parents who threw him out for having a 16 year old girl friend. Not everyone that classifies as homeless is some dirty crazy dude begging for money at busy intersections. I would say that these girls should be left to raise the child by themselves and support themselves to teach them a lesson, but that wouldn't be fair for the children. When I was 16 I had a close call with my girl missing a period and it scared the shit out of me. I have never felt that kind of fear in my life. I would have done anything to make her get an abortion, no way would I let some kid come into the picture and ruin my career.(or life in general)

QFT I was Classification 1-b on ASVAB, 1st class PFT, 1st class swim, ROTC and college, from a long line of service men and women in my family. Needless to say my recruiter wanted me signed up immediately, and would have gladly given me any job in the service I wanted. I didn't once ever hear mention of signing bonus. (I didn't ask about it, and he didn't mention it.) As far as Marines are concerned, being able to earn the title of Marine is enough of a bonus. That's not to say you can't get a bonus, I'm just saying don't have your mind set on those big numbers you see in the commercials. That is one of the things I would have to speak with my recruiter friend about. I'm sure they offer bonuses for the hard to fill billets, but they don't hand them out like the Army does. This is another good things to speak with your recruiter about. If you want a better chance at an unbiased opinion on it PM me the questions and I will have a recruiter here answer them. He won't be getting the points if you sign up with your local recruiter, so he will give you straight answers.

Once again a thread full of civvie opinions on the military. As to your question regarding a diploma to join the Marines (always capitalized). You can join with a GED, but it is harder and will require your recruiter to go through a lot of extra work. He/She will probably send you to to a High School Diploma program to get one before joining. The Marines will help pay for college thanks to the GI Bill (which is just now getting upgraded to help us out even more). The military is all about helping you further your education. There is always someone willing to work with you to help you along that path. As for which service to join, it is all down to what you want to do. Keep in mind that if you are going active duty, then the Marines cannot guarantee you a specific MOS, only a career field. For instance, you can get guaranteed an 03 (infantry) career field, but you can't get guaranteed a specific MOS within that field, such as machine gunner, rifleman, assaultman, ect. You will get to put down what you want on a wish-list, and when in School of Infantry they will ask who wants to try for which position. How is Boot Camp? It's not as bad as people say. This is because most of those people talking are civvies. Sure parts of it suck, that's life. But it really isn't that bad. During DEP (Delayed Entry Program - the time from when you sign and swear in at MEPS to your ship date.) you will work out with your recruiter and the rest of the poolees at least once a week, and do some other cool activities too. So as long as you participate and put out while working out you should be in decent shape for it. They will also go over a lot of what Boot Camp will be like. You can ask your recruiter if he has a copy of Ears Open Eyeballs Click (or watch the clips on youtube). It is a documentary following a platoon through USMC RD SD. As for Hawaii, I don't think there are any Army guys there. Only Marines (K-Bay). If you have any specific questions shoot me a PM. (About USMC, but I can answer some general questions about Army or send them to some Army buddies to get them answered.) Either way, thank you for signing up in a time when you don't have to. No one needs any more reason to fuck with Iran than Iran already supplies themselves.
