soundcard: soundblaster live! processor: 1.6 ghz amd (equiv to 2.0 ghz intel) ram: 512 mb ddr videocard (probably doesn't matter but oh well): radeon x800 pro and again, with the headsets, lol, i just want to put a microphone on my monitor, i don't need another headset.

i always wear headphones, and these are probably better than the headset's speakers (unless those aol hillbillys need to have surround sound so they can hear the voices as if they actually had friends in reallife) but i guess i should get a new soundcard :( which brings us to a new subject! :wow: what's a cheap and okay soundcard that doesn't suck more than my soundblaster live (be more specific than 'everything!' plz)

i don't really want to spend more than 30 dollars. i don't need extremely crisp audio, i just want it to be clear enough so there isn't a constant fuzzyness in the background. plus, like i said before, i think the fact that the RCA MICROphones (you said microphones, not sure if that was a typo or you misread) are shitty sounding is just because of my old soundblaster live! whereas usb microphones just go into a usb port and not directly through soundcard.

i think i tried that, but i couldn't find anywhere to just rip a part of the movie.

i need to rip a scene from a dvd to put in a movie for my video class but i went through like 6 shitty ass dvd rippers. i need a ripper that allows me to just rip one scene specifically, and not the entire thing. so yeah, i need a dvd ripper. thnx.

I'm planning to get a new microphone since all my microphones seem to be shitting out, either that, or it's the soundboard. I tried out 3 microphones (2 seperate ones, one headset) and they seem to all have the same type of fuzziness when I record (with cool edit). The sound quality of my records have been getting progressively worse. I'm thinking it's the soundboard since all the microphones sound the same, and they used to sound good. Instead of buying a new soundboard, i thought it would be alot cheaper just to get a USB microphone. (specifically http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/CA/EN,CRID=103,CONTENTID=6776 ) Now I'm not sure of the advantages or disadvantages of USB has to regular RCA microphones. I'm assuming since it's usb, then it shouldn't be fucked up by the soundboard. But is there any other reasons why USB is better, or vice versa?
