yeah the build is pretty solid and should get you a good 3-4 years as it is with solid performance the downside is that while you might not have to replace EVERYTHING when you have to upgrade again, but more than likely you will have to replace most of it

AMD doesn't have the money to 1up Intel right now after they purchased ATI. Anything AMD releases in the next few years should be expected to be inferior to a corresponding Intel product. AMD is a year and a half behind Intel at this point. BTW, Intel didn't copy AMD's architecture. The only thing they copied was the IMC. Nothing AMD has released lately has been worth a shit for performance or overclocking. The Q6600 will equal or outperform anything AMD has on the market right now at the same price as the best AMD processor on the market. AMD isn't raping Intel on price... the Intel CPUs cost more but perform much better than anything AMD has on the market. The price/performance is actually equal or slightly better for Intel right now. The price is higher because the product performs better. The fact of the matter is that Intel has the ability to continue burying AMD for a very long time. The only chance AMD has is if Intel has another blunder like Netburst. I don't see that happening any time soon since I'm sure Netburst is fresh in the back of their minds.

Upgrading over time isn't a great idea. Compatibility with stuff changes a lot (such as motherboard pins). In fact, with the release of Nehalem Intel is going to require a new pin for processors. The new mobos will also only use DDR3 RAM. This means that if you have to upgrade your mobo, processor, or RAM then all three of them have to be upgraded. You would essentially be building a new computer anyway. If you really plan on just upgrading over time, then I would wait for Nehalem to be released and grab one of those so at least you will have something that will last for some time. As for the boards and card, you want what will give you the best performance for what you want to do. I gave you alternatives that are in the same price range that will take maybe 10-20 minutes of research to find out which is best. All the alternatives I gave you were in the price range comparable to the items you posted. You asked for some possible flaws in the build and I posted some that could be an issue. To me a flaw includes something that wont give optimal performance for the price.

What do you plan on using it for? If you only use it for schoolwork, downloading shit, gaming, etc. then it isn't worth getting a quad core. It would be better to look into an E8500 dual core in that case. Also, do you plan on overclocking? The Q6600 is only good if you plan on overclocking it since you can get it up to 3.0 Ghz with default voltage with relative ease. If you don't want to mess with overclocking, then look into the Q8200 for affordability or the Q9300 as the step up with more overclocking ability and slightly higher clock speed, but again not all that cost effective compared to the Q8200 if you don't plan to overclock. ATI is whooping Nvidia's ass when it comes to price/performance right now, but it also depends on what games you plan on playing. I would suggest that you search for benchmarks on the games you plan on playing to get the best video card for you. Without knowing what games you plan on playing I would suggest you go with a Radeon 4000 series card. If you do that, then I would look into a P35 or an X38 chipset (if you are willing to spend a little more). That power supply is okay but I would look into PC Power and Cooling because they simply make the best power supplies out there.
