I went to a water park as a kid, and I didn't wear sunscreen. I am extremely susceptible to sunburn, and I ended up having my entire back and shoulders covered (50+) in giant (golf-ball sized) blisters. The burning sensation was bad, but it wasn't as bad as the horrific itching sensation on places that I couldn't reach or stung like shit when I scratched.

Computing lighting like this is too prohibitively slow to do dynamically in real time (30+ minutes per frame) however, if the lighting is static, you can "bake" the diffuse lighting information into the map geometry lightmaps and have realistic lighting like this in a map. This is only for diffuse light and light bouncing. Specular highlights and reflections would still have to be faked with traditional technology.
