I personally believe that this movie is made for the sole purpose of creating controversy. I don't believe there is a higher being that created everything, too many clues point to cases of evolution. I'll probably watch this movie, anything that will raise in depth discussion is a-ok in my book. I think there is a chance that a man named Jesus did exist 2 millenia ago, but the fact that he was the son of god, died for our sins, and was ressurected? Doubt it. This movie reminds me of the film titled 'The Body', with Antonio Banderas, which dives into the same mystery of whether or not this man named Jesus really was what he is said to be. My question is how can people believe an account written by 12 men dating back nearly 2000 years? What I ask more is how can people believe accounts written by 1 man 150 years ago (Mormons)? Is it because of our sense of insecurity that we must cling to something so abstract? What is it with so many people that they have to believe in something that has no historical evidence to back it up? It's a joke. Too much evidence points to different trails. There is no god, in my opinion. I'm sure many of you will probably remember this from the beginning of the movie 'Dogma', but religion reminds me of the poem 'The Walrus and the Carpenter'. The walrus coaxs oysters to follow him, and more oysters follow, and more and more. Read the poem yourself, you'll get the idea.
