What is with this new gluten-free diet craze? Restaurants are beginning to adjust their menus just like they did with the Atkins low-carb diet a few years ago. This whole thing is ultimately only a time waster. I know the word gluten sounds like it is some kind of fat or something bad, after all it does rhyme with glutton. But it isn't; it's a natural protein that's found in wheat. There is absolutely nothing wrong with gluten. I will admit that an excess of carbohydrates, especially sugar-related is not good, and neither is saturated fat. But gluten is the silliest thing to be worried about! Eat your gluten with pride, folks, and don't waste time trying to find products without it: it's almost impossible.
