Lol the reason everyone calls them emo is because their music sounds too mainstream now. But that's the way all metalcore bands seem to be headed in. Killswitch Engage used to make awesome metalcore, but they're 'emo' now as well.

He didn't say he hates Atreyu, he wants to stop listening to them because he's an uber l33t kvlt metal fan.

The first step would probably be to dub Michael Bolton's vocals over every Atreyu song in your library.
