Loffles I'm sad I missed this thread. ATI drivers don't need a restart in Windows and takes about 30 seconds to install. If you know how to use windows, it's a good OS. It's stupid enough to be a widespread OS, but be customizable enough for the power user. Yeah, it's bloated compared to it's OSS couterparts, but I can get 8 gigs of GOOD ram for < $100. Bloat away! And yes, I'm quite adept in Unix-based operating systems... but I won't be bothered to run 2 OSes on my home machine. *Nix just isn't as good for gaming and doesn't have the driver support Windows does. On topic - Read into some basic terminal tutorials/manuals. Once you're comfortable with it, check out guides on installing your favorite distro... or one you've deemed challenging enough. If what you're reading doesn't explain shit and is going over your head.... try another guide, or a simpler distro. I suggest Fedora, Debian or FreeBSD... though FreeBSD is more for the terminal jockey.
