I doubt you use anything that doesn't have a linux equivalent. (The equivalent program is probably better too, as I've seen in a lot of cases.) Also, most games can be run using Cedega/WineX, so there's no need to use Windows. (Half-Life, Half-Life 2, DOD:S, CS:S, BattleField 2 etc. all run on Cegega\WineX and some games using OpenGL have a linux client (e.g. UT, Doom 3, Quake 4 (I don't really play games so I can't list many.))

The most simple way would be to find an exploit for the software they're using (I'm guessing you're an idiot and need help hacking a php-nuke, phpbb, etc. website, so any info you get is just going to confuse you.). Just search google and you'll find a list of the latest exploits for the software, as you're actually asking for help I seriously doubt you'd know how to use any of them or get the "un-encypted password (via brute-force or a dictionary attack)", just give up and get back to struggling at school.

You'll need to be familiar with "Double Buffering" to draw graphics (this technique will remove the flicker you get from drawing to one image and clearing it each frame). The video card is a problem? You'll find that the 7800gtx is the most powerful graphics card out right now, your problem is obviously that you have an old card (or other parts of your PC are out-dated), not the fact that is has 256mb of ram.
