Recently, my speakers have stopped working... However I do not know if it is my speakers or my sound card. The reason for this is because when I unplug the speakers and put in headphones, or other speakers they have no sound either. I am thinking it might be my soundcard, is their anyway of detirmining/fixing this problem. Also, in kazaa when i go to play a song it doesn't play it... its almost like I clicked on it but didn't play (i did.. multiple times) its almost like its not registering that I can have sound... its nothing in my taskber little speaker thing, cause those are all full and off mute.. anyone have any suggestions?

Did u reinstalled ur sound drivers? Format?

things that might help:

 

1-try switching off the power and repluging it

2-scan for any viruses

3-check if the soundcard is actually detected

4-make sure your soundcard is set as default (some motherboards have built in sound cards that cause problems)

5-try unpluggin and replugging the card in your pci slot

6-try the speakers on a radio or something

7-if steps 1-5 dont help thn its most probably a problem with your soundcard
