December 5, 200321 yr depends, Sprite...the "yellowjacket" pep pills you get at the hindu quicki mart are caffeine...but the origin of the name came from phar,aceutical dexidrine diet pills in 20 mg doses...came in a yellow and black gelatin pill capsul...and were known as "dexies" or "yellowjackets" through the 60's and 70's... some incredibly behind the times stoners my parents age still use them occasionally, and use the old name...and their kids grow up hearing them called "yellowjackets", and use the name themselves, when they start stealing mommy's stash of prescription only diet pills, as a result (at least, that's what you were getting if you bought "yellowjackets" from a back parking lot high school dealer, when I was in high school...lol)

Ephedra is known for killing athletes in the last few years because they take pills containing it, in hopes of losing weight and getting into shape. What they are actually doing in burning calories by raising the blood pressure, and raising their heartbeat, thus creating a "hyperactive" state. What it does is adds stress to the heart, and over months of use, will induce heart attacks. We had a call about this time last year, 3 teens at a party taking yellow jackets in large doses, had apparently collapsed on the front lawn. Medics were sent, and when we arrived, 2 of them were DOA. The third was resuscitated, and later told a story of them taking the "diet pills" to keep up with school, athletic activities and work. They had taken an average of 6 per day for the last 3 months. At the party, they decided to up the dosage to 4 at once, and got a bit too "wired" and went outside too cool down. One went down, and the other two thought he was drunk, so they laughed it up. Then another went down, and the third started to feel dizzy and light headed. His smart friend decided to call 911, and 7 minutes later, medics arrived and pronounced 2 of them DOA. The coroner was called to confirm. So in 2 hours, these 2 teens went from starting players on the local HS football team, with commendable grades and future aspirations to go to college and play ball, to 2 headstones in a cemetery. You make the choice, but know the facts first...It’s not just a "caffeine pill"

Kids are getting bottles of 25 yellow jackets at the gas stations for around 5 dollars. That makes it a much more excess able drug and technically legal. Which to us is a very dangerous thing. Hell, I've caught kids smoking peanuts and taking tablespoons of nutmeg just to get high. I don't personally know if their methods work, but they seem to think they do. December 6, 200321 yr np braahp, I caught that, anyhow. and it's no biggie to occasionally turn out to be less than all-knowing...after all, I already KNEW I was on shaky ground there, since I don't bother with pep pills or speed at any level, anyhow :)
