Do not anchor or secure the machines. Coca-Cola does not want to do that, and storeowners don't want their walls and floors damaged. Dr. Belanger's mandate is not to concern himself with the sensibilities of multi national corporations, or institutions; it is to make recommendations which will prevent future deaths and injuries. If he had done his homework, he would know that in all places where injuries and deaths had occurred, the machines have subsequently been anchored.

6. The janitors knew and had seen that the students rocked the pop machine, the ceiling and floor of the Lobby were damaged, by the shaking of it. Why did the Administration do nothing? After Kevin's death the damage to the ceiling in the Lobby was repaired by the University.

7. Why were no independent experts consulted by Dr. Belanger? The people he did speak to were not objective.
