I have an old ass linksys router, but I hardly ever use the damn thing since it caused way more problems and wasn't all that useful. I had problems with connections getting dropped from irc, msn, aim etc. and I couldn't even play css with it back when I played css and I had to reset the damn thing a lot. So here's my question, can anyone recommend an actual decent router that doesn't fuck up and is easy to setup and use since I've got no time to really get into messing around with some wonky complicated router?

depends on if you want wireless. from what ive been reading if you want wired, linksys is the way to go. if you want wireless, netgear is better.

i have a linksys befsr41(wired) and have had no problems what so ever. i actually managed to stay connected to aim for over a month untill my isp started having issues, so it wasnt even the routers problem.

i have an old linksys router too...but i couldn't be happier with it, never get any problems with it

Linksys makes good equipment. Perhaps that's why (almost) everyone uses their stuff.

anyone who recommends netgear EVER is an incompetent fool. D-link is the way to go for everything. Due to netgears flaws from not being able to allow simultaneous logins and slow wireless, d-link owns netgear. linksys is overpriced bullshit. D-link has a really simple setup and an even easier admin panel.
I've got a nice netgear wireless router, it's treated me well for about the year that's I've used it only had to restart a few times I'd reccomend it.
dont get lynxsys, i bought one that was 128mbps, lost internet every 5 minutes for 15 seconds, sucked ass, then after swapping out with the old one for 6 months, and update came out and now we can use the new one without loosing internet.
the Linksys WRT54 series are great, never had a problem with them.
i own a linksys wrt54g, resonably priced, easy to configure, and i have no problems with cs:s, bittorrent and other internet hogging applications
friend had a problem with his Linksys so he took his shotgun and shot it....his computer works fine now....(he bought a new one)
