September 4, 200519 yr Edward norton is never given a name you idiot, hes refered to as the narrator in the ctredits, not jack. Hmph. I don't know where I got the name Jack from, its been over a year since I've seen it. I guess its time to dust it off and watch it again.Tomtheman70's description was mostly correct, Edward Norton played a schizophrenic. But the fact he left out was, that the whole point of the fight club was to gather people to blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah Yikes, I didn't really want to go that greatly into detail with it. I was just giving a rough description of how the movie goes to the best of my understanding, which is quite vauge seeing as how I haven't seen the movie in over a year. Thanks for finishing it up.
September 4, 200519 yr i have never seen fight club but that doesent stop me from saying its gay and people who like it are gay
September 4, 200519 yr Wow... you some of you people are fucking retarded. I have seen some really fucking smart people on these forums but sometimes i am astounded how simple minded you fuckers are, First of all he DID NOT defuse the bomb, did you even watch the end? secondly the building he was in didnt blow up he had a view of the credit card companies blowing up from the building they were in. The reason tyler went away after he shot himself was because he "hit rock bottom" which was his goal all along, the complete opposite of his normal life. Shooting himself was the ultimate shit toss at his former life... he "just let go". i suggest you people stick to cartoons and the little engine that could if you want to understand the films and books you are watching/reading. edit: To give to a push in the right direction... A little steam engine had a long train of cars to pull. She went along very well till she came to a steep hill. But then, no matter how hard she tried, she could not move the long train of cars. She pulled and she pulled. She puffed and she puffed. She backed and started off again. Choo! Choo! But no! the cars would not go up the hill. At last she left the train and started up the track alone. Do you think she had stopped working? No, indeed! She was going for help. "Surely I can find someone to help me," she thought. Over the hill and up the track went the little steam engine. Choo, choo! Choo, choo! Choo, choo! Choo! Pretty soon she saw a big steam engine standing on a side track. He looked very big and strong. Running alongside, she looked up and said: "Will you help me over the hill with my train of cars? It is so long and heavy I can't get it over." The big steam engine looked down at the little steam engine. The he said: "Don't you see that I am through my day's work? I have been rubbed and scoured ready for my next run. No, I cannot help you," The little steam engine was sorry, but she went on, Choo, choo! Choo, choo! Choo, choo! Choo, choo! Soon she came to a second big steam engine standing on a side track. He was puffing and puffing, as if he were tired. That big steam engine may help me," thought the little steam engine. She ran alongside and asked: "Will you help me bring my train of cars over the hill? It is so long and so heavy that I can't get it over." The second big steam engine answered: "I have just come in from a long, long run. Don't you see how tired I am? Can't you get some other engine to help you this time? "I'll try," said the little steam engine, and off she went. Choo, choo! Choo, choo! Choo, choo! After a while she came to a little steam engine just like herself. She ran alongside and said: "Will you help me over the hill with my train of cars? It is so long and so heavy that I can't get it over." "Yes, indeed!" said this little steam engine. "I'll be glad to help you, if I can." So the little steam engines started back to where the train of cars had been standing. Both little steam engines went to the head of the train, one behind the other. Puff, puff! Chug, choo! Off they started! Slowly the cars began to move. Slowly they climbed the steep hill. As they climbed, each little steam engine began to sing: "I-think-I-can! I-think-I-can! I-think-I-can! I-think-I-can! I-think-I-can! I-think-I-can! I think I can - I think I can - I think I can I think I can--" And they did! Very soon they were over the hill and going down the other side. Now they were on the plain again; and the little steam engine could pull her train herself. So she thanked the little engine who had come to help her, and said good-by. And she went merrily on her way, singing: "I-thought-I-could! I-thought-I-could! I-thought-I-could! I-thought-I-could! I thought i could - I thought I could - I thought I could - I thought I could - I thought I could - I thought I could I thought I could --" THE END
September 4, 200519 yr obsession']Wow... you people are fucking retarded. Shooting himself was the ultimate shit toss at his former life... he "just let go". i suggest you people stick to cartoons and the little engine that could if you want to understand the films and books you are watching/reading. lmao. They are missing the bigger picture. The "point" of the movie was not just Edward Norton's inner struggle with himself and his imaginary persona, Tyler. You're right in that Norton did, in fact, "free" himself of his emotional burdens when he shot himself in the face. But that still wasn't the message that the movie was trying to convey. The movie was about a man (Edward Norton) that went to work every day like everyone else, had a lot of money, but still wasn't satisfied. Then he started having mental problems and he wanted to start a revolution to end society as he knew it: dark, impersonal, uncompassionate, and uninspiring. Like when Tyler said that whole spewl about how him and other people were pissed cause they wanted to be rock stars and millionares but they never got to...well he (Edward Norton) felt like the system had let him down. Everyone associated with Fight Club also felt that way. Fight Club was basically a way for blue color, uneducated people to feel like they were something great. This movie has "marxist revolution" written all over it. This how a political movement starts. So the movie was a political satire so to speak. That's the message the movie is trying to convey; not just that Edward Norton was a fucking lunatic.
September 4, 200519 yr lmao. They are missing the bigger picture. The "point" of the movie was not just Edward Norton's inner struggle with himself and his imaginary persona, Tyler. Of course it wasn't just that but the political and social motivation of the movie was more obvious and simple than the psychological aspect which is why the people above werent able to grasp it nand thats what i was explaining
September 4, 200519 yr You guys are going way over peoples heads here... Just feed the trolls. Durrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Fighting is cool! I'm in a fight club and I punch people in the teef every day!!111 The movie was brilliant. :drama:
September 4, 200519 yr Edward norton is never given a name you idiot, hes refered to as the narrator in the ctredits, not jack. I just called him Jack because he says "I am Jacks complete lack of surpirse, I am Jacks smirking revenge." Etc And he was also called "Jack" in the game, which was horrible, don't buy it, don't even waste money on renting it. The only good part is breaking people's bones.
September 4, 200519 yr gj nice summary, althou i still cant figure out why when the one part there in that basement under the club, why it looks like tyler is getting the shit kicked out of him and everyone sees it while jack is with everyone else looking at him... ahh well fucked up movie Ed Norton is the one getting the shit kicked out of him, he's just imaging it as Tyler, just like when he was watching Tyler talk to the Police Chief in the bathroom, when it was really him. And when he thought Tyler was holding him down when he was being burned by the Lye, but then you see him just sitting there with his arm held out and his hand smoking. Some parts are hard to explain lol, but I get it.

September 5, 200519 yr The part that annoys me is when norton and pitt are fighting, which means norton is fighting himself, then the guy steps up and asks if he can have a go, then wouldn't that mean he would just start punching himself, not fighting norton?
September 5, 200519 yr Jack (Edward Norton) you fucking idiot. i already established edward norton is never given a name.
September 5, 200519 yr The part that annoys me is when norton and pitt are fighting, which means norton is fighting himself, then the guy steps up and asks if he can have a go, then wouldn't that mean he would just start punching himself, not fighting norton? lol HUH?
