Posted December 17, 200321 yr I just found out the radeon 9800 NON PRO can be flashed to a 9800 Pro BIOS, giving the welfare card on par performance with the 9800 pro and saving you $200. I was a bit late on this but many people have had success, if the card has Samsung ram there is 100% chance it will work. You americans have it easy, Circuit City has the 9800np on sale for 200 bucks I hear, that's about half the price of a Pro. I'm looking for Canadian retailers that carry a non pro card, list them in the thread with links to their website.

December 18, 200321 yr on the forums over at futurmark.com there's a good guide to getting yourself upgraded from a 9800np to a 9800pro i myself have done and ive been running at 9800pro speeds for the past 3 months one thing though, you HAVE to have Samsung memory on the video card a way to find this out is to open your case up and look at the little black squares on the card and if they have white type on them saying "SAMSUNG" well then you're good to go
