BitTorrent works by you clicking a link, and from there it opens a window and downloads the file for you. Although you do upload while your downloading but there's a hack for that. After you install BitTorrent open up your registery (Start>Run>Regedit) and run a search for bittorrent. After it finds the folder open up all of its subfolders until your at a dead end at that point there's a file to the right in the file menu. Right click it and select modify and erase everything and add this string:

"C:\Program Files\BitTorrent\btdownloadgui.exe" --responsefile "%1" --max_upload_rate "1"

Now, this is only from my evaluations:

 

I only share 10kbs, and downloads are usually at full speed, but when i start to get about 80% done, things slow down. But when i increase my upload to unlimited, i give my bandwitdh to the lower leachers and my download increases back up.

 

So, from my findings,most of the seeders upload bandwidth will only go towards the people with the least % done, am i correct?

 

I dont use normal bittorent, there are a few good programs that dont have that download to upload ratio function.

ok say theres 1 host and 3 users...

 

host sends out torrent so 3 users can download.

1st user is the one who seeded the file.(meaning he had it in the first place)

2 downloads from user 1

3 downloads from user 1 at differnt data points. so user 2 can download from 3 while downloading from 1 at same time.

2 downloads from 3 and 1

3 downloads from 2 and 1

 

depending on how much data you have, the 1 2 and 3 will choose if its goona connect with you.

 

on a larger scale this is very efficient.

 

although 40 people is the most u can download from i think

someone just fucking say if it slows down upload, no one gives a shit about how bittorrent works, so don't even type it, no one will read it.

try burst torrent, the min you can go is 10kbs, but I also get full download speeds at 10k.

the whole fucking point of BT is for fast downloads, you noobs that try and get around it need to get your fat ass off dialup and get a real connection.

 

If everyone tried to get around uploading while downloading something off BT, then your downloads would be slow as shit, ever slower if you had just uploaded in the first fucking place.

blocky, i copied and pasted this off a website.. I did not write this and i didnt bother to edit anything out from the copy... And my speeds were great while only uploaded 1kbs.... for all u people who say it doesnt do anything just try it...
