Having been in and still in the Army, there are plenty of jobs that don't require a whole lot of intelligence to perform. I have, for instance, had to teach a 19 year old soldier his multiplication tables. Fun indeed, however this particular guy was the man with the SAW. I wouldnt want to be 400 meters down range with him firing at me - multiplication tables or not.

 

The point is, you can laugh and joke about the Army being full of dumbasses all you want. But we put the smart people where they need to be and the dumb people where they need to be. And it all works out just fine IMHO.

no, it was taken at my school in 6th grade, long ass time ago, probly around 120 by now, I belive that still qualified for Mensa? I did get a brochure when I started 7th grade though, lol.

yea ive been over seas in Europe, ive seen alot of shit heads come in and out of my instalation, bunch of losers ur guy's age join up for the money, then cause all sorts of shit and end of in jail and kicked out b4 they even become and e-2, Honestly im fucking disgusted at some americans, and ffs it would help if they tured /ff off over there in the middle east shit..

I don't think I read anything in there about IQ levels dropping from 60-40.

As someone mentioned, about 70 is the level for defining retardation.

I've did (edit: I changed the sentence from I've done an to I did, but didn't edit it properly, hence the fucked up grammar. It's a typo, get over it.) a professional IQ test at school when I was 8. I scored 128 average over two scores (I think it was 126 Language and 130 mathematics).

 

I did another through the Church of Scientology, who assured me it was the same tests they use in schools, in MENSA and in other Western countries. I was 19 this time and scored 136. I hadn't slept all night (except the two hours I passed out on the couch) I had drunk about 5 beers the night before, and I had skipped breakfast.

 

I believe I should have scored much higher considering the state I was in, and the amount my brain has developed since I was 8.

 

I'll sit another someday soon.

 

More recently however I have tried those online tests, and I averaged about the same, 136, but I still think I should have gotten higher.

the problem with those tests is that you can finish them in 5 minutes or 500 minutes, and the results will not be affected by the length of time spent on them, only on the answers given.

 

 

Having a high IQ is like having a superleet computer. You have to have the education to know how to use it otherwise it's potential will be wasted.

 

I have a high IQ, but I don't make $50k a year, whereas my flatmate who has a much lower IQ but a good education makes over $60k.

i didnt say everyone was, there has to be at least a few half intelligent people in the army to show the rest of em where to point thier guns.

im pretty sure that mp_friendlyfire 1 dont work irl? he was likely referring to how the army grunts keep shooting themselves in the middle east, and that they should try to refrain from doing that sort of bullshit in the future.

 

(then again he could be talking about cs:s servers hosted in the middle-east, in which case you may have a point)

nahh dude lol nice try trying to punk me though, I my self is not in the military, but my father is, i went to school over there in sum crappy DOD school, and i used to hang out with sum single soldiers and thats where i discovered their personalities and shit. gg

I just did a rough search and got info that 6th grade in US is about 12yrs old.

I scored 128 when I was 8 years old.

 

I was in the "gifted" class, where we got to make shit and devise strategies to accomplish tasks.

 

We were given a roll of yellow paper, a jar of honey, a roll of tape and some tinfoil (aluminium wrap). The task was to make a hornet trap (hornets being the big fat motherfucker wasps that attack like Japanese Kamikaze pilots in Pearl Harbour).

 

That was the first and easiest task.

 

Then we had to analyse the meanings of political songs, enter national spelling bees, figure out computer puzzles and other stuff.

 

It was cool,, but I did all that shit in my spare time for fun anyway, so having an hour of it for a class but being told what and how to do each thing kind of sucked.

 

Still, it was better than rote-learning in Maths or English classes.
