The Bachman Books - Steven King when he was pretending to be someone else called Richard Bachman. Not horror fiction, kind of horror but more realistic and believable.

Pet Sematary- Steven King.

Anything in the Rich Dad Poor Dad series by Robert T Kiyosaki.

Harry Potter books rock, and the Discworld novels by Terry Pratchett.

Able and Cain, don't know author, very good story.

Sexus, Nexus and Plexus, don't know author, filthy books about sex in the '30s.

The original Jaws (the movie sucks compared to the book).

If you're really into the intelligent stuff, and you wanna expand your knowledge on mathematics, read The Golden Ratio by Mario Livio.

A tad boring, though. Very informative, however.

I enjoyed "The Teaching of Don Juan: A Yaqui Way of Knowledge" (by Carlos Castaneda) a lot. Very good read.

One of my favorite books is Nazi Culture by George L. Mosse.

Not trying to be hip and racist, but it was a really cool book. It tells, from recorded accounts, what it was like to live as a Nazi parent, worker, student, Hitler Youth in the era. What the sex practices, morals, and family life were like. It illustrated their attituds twards art, music, drama, science, and religion. Most of that was taken directly from the book, but this book really puts you in the era and mindset of these people and what life was like. Awesome book for history buffs, but nonetheless good for anyone else.

Der treue Partisan

no idea if it has ever been translated - if yes...it could be "The faithful Partisan" or "The loyal Partisan"...maybe... ;D

Yeah hope on the bandwagon, all teens our age read Dan Brows work cuz we hear it good, and it is, Personally i like 1984 by George Orwell, if u really take in the words, u can c that this author forsaw the US's future allll the way back in the 20's(book was made in the 20's but talk of the future and the big brother theory). Its a great book.

Good point 1984 is a must read.

Fiction

Art of War (a narritive of Alexander the Great)

Da Vinci Code (Make sure you get the inllustrated version)

Memoirs of Geisha

Catch-22 (very humorous)

Classics

I'm a fan of Dicken's work.

Great Expectations, David Copperfield and Oliver Twist are fun reads if you haven't read them.

Nonfiction

The World is Flat (Very insightful book on globalization)

Rich Dad Poor Dad (If you want to be rich, this is a good reference)

If you aren't a big reader and you like books that are easy to read, go with Stephen King, Ray Bradbury, or whatever's on the best sellers list. America hates reading.

If you enjoy something a bit deeper, try reading Orwell's books. They really get you to think.

If you're able to understand it, some Shakespear can be interesting/funny. Of course, saying that is just tempting posts like "LOL OMFG U REED TAHT SSHIT LMFAO ***", but it's good nonetheless. There are reasons for the longevity of his works.

Terry pratchet is a good author if you like english humor at all, it's kinda wierd.

Also, Solider X, It's a pretty short book about a hitler youth that pretends to be a russian solider so he won't get killed. It's pretty interesting.

the catcher of the rye

good book cause the guy that killed john lennon was inspired by the book.

It's Catcher IN the rye. GG

"Magician" by Raymond E Fiest is the best fantasy novel I've ever read, literally impossible to put down.
