The war was good for freeing the people (I already mentioned that), but it sucked because it made terrorism worse, and because Bush simply lied about the weapons. That being said, the war is on now, and I think other countries should help finishing it as quickly as possible. Bush bashing is annoying as hell, because the fact of the matter is he is still probobly a better decision maker than any single one of you, and had he not been qualified for the position he would not have been nominated, let alone elected and re-elected in the first place. Now let us say that you are the president. Let us also say that according to your intelligence, some country has a weapon that is a threat to the safety of our fair nation. Now this intelligence would prove earlier evidence that was thought to be rumor on this subject. Let's say after recieving this intelligence you decide to do nothing with it, feel it isn't a threat, don't follow up into it. Two years from now this country attacks our country with this weapon. Would the people not blame you for the disaster? After all, you were let known the situation beforehand. I'm not saying that I like Bush, I agree with him some and disagree with him some. The fact of the matter is, if Iraq would have had the weapons and we would have not done anything about it and we were attacked, he would have been criticized every bit as much as he is now. The main objective was to promote the security of our nation, and not to get ahold of Iraq's oil. The only basis you people have to your claims is what the media tells you. The media is biased if you don't already know. MSNBC, CNN, etc. are all biased. So rather than saying what someone else thinks, think things through yourself. Come up with your own ideas rather than just deciding "oh yeah this person's opinion is good enough for me." It disgusts me to see that people just see Bush as a war hawk. Frankly, I think Iraq war has more to do with China than anything else, and along those lines, it has everything to do with oil. China is on course to become the next super power, they are rapidly modernizing their military and industrial complexes. In order for them to succeed in doing this, they are gonna need oil, plenty of it, and a steady supply of it. Iraq war goes much further than the borders of Iraq, it affects the entire middle east. We are obviously out for establishing democracy there, and hopefully throughout the middle east. Hmm let's see.....democracy is the enemy of what? You can answer that. But in the long term we can have the middle east controlled by democratic countries and then we have an upcoming country, China, relying on these democratic countries for the oil they so desperately require to become and maintain super power status. Sounds pretty sound to me. All works well in my mind, except for Venezuela, that Chavez is throwing a wrench in the works.
