Why canada is not gay

 

1. Canada's legal system regarding:

I. pot

i. Allows medicinal pot, and even supplies it

ii. has very lax laws on possession of small amounts, soon to be decriminalized and then legalized

II. MP3's

i. downloading on P2P is perfectly legal as long as you dont upload

ii. the Canadian equivalent of the RIAA cannot prosecute everyone who

might

be a pirate because they cannot subpoena ISP's customer information without a warrant signed by a judge for each individual 'suspect'

III. Privacy

i. There is no equivalent to the FBI with the power to spy on anyone who they think might possibly be a 'terrorist' (and in fact we do not classify computer crime as terrorism)

ii. We have no DMCA, which allows us to do normal things like reverse engineer without fear of lawsuits
