Just built my new computer with amd x2 4200+ and this video card. DEcided I wnated to try out the bf2 demo before buying it or downloading t through IRC.

downloaded it from dwonload.com. ran the installer and installed the drivers that I needed for the video card (came with installer) everything ran perfectly since I have xp 1gb of ram, fast proc. ok then it came to the main screen and froze on me waited a little bit. task manager wouldn't come up so I turned it off. went on to my username and ran it again. black screen came up to readjust the display and then that black screen shrunk so I could see my desktop, my video card made a loud noise and my sytem restarted. ever sicne that happened every time i try to run bf2 it restarts on me.

tryed everything from reinstalling bf2, reinstalling video card drivers, doing a system restore, taking the card out of the pci express x16 slot and putting it back in and it still restarts when I run bf2.

can somebody help me?

didnt fcukin work! did the same thing where it turned my monitor black then shrunk so I could see half my desktop then crashed making my system restart.

HOw do I fix?!

Could it be my monitor since Im using my old CRt since my brand new dell lcd 17" which had to be sent back for another one. (pixels fcuked up resloution)

Well the videocard you've bought is kinda inferior to your processor...

Not that this has anything to do with it but imho you could've better bought a normal 6800 wich would cost $150 max and you could overclock it so that it has 16 pipelines and 6 vertex thingies.

Plus the 6600LE won't run bf2 really well...

When I had my 6800 LE (The version you can unlock the pipelines. It doesn't open then, it emulates them.

Plus, LOTS of artifacts.

It runs ok @ 12/6 though @ 350/720

That all depends... with every manufacturer it's different..

Alltho with benchmark tests the results were barely lower than 16 pipelines.

Back to topic.

Try sending your card back to the manufacturer... if the card is making a weird noise the fan is probably broken or not working well wich makes your computer reboot.
