October 20, 200519 yr bertuccis, $8 an hour all you losers who can't get a job, i don't understand how you can fail so easily. show up dressed in a collared shirt, take a shower before so you don't smell like hand lotion and jizz, ask to speak with the manager, express your interest, and after you've filled out an application, call call call until they get back to you. i've gotten a job every summer since i was 14 without any connections or help from parents/relatives. or maybe the reason some of you can't get a job is because you don't want to "lower" yourselves to certain jobs like working in supermarkets or cashiering. money's money, regardless of how you make it. just my 2 cents worth ;) edit: i'm a senior in highschool
October 20, 200519 yr Some advice. Stay away from any Kroger or associates of Kroger, they fuck you over hard. I have worked there for close to 3 years, I started as a cashier but ended up filling in for other people in other depts. when they went on vacation. I managed to learn every dept except the meat market ( you have to be trained and certified to a degree before you can cut meat for Kroger's, atleast thats what they say. ) Anyway I can pretty much work every dept. and I became a supervisor after a year, I became a replacement assistant manager soon after that. I would take the place of assistant manager when any of them would go on vacation.  The only problem with all of this is when i wasnt working as an assistant manager I get paid 7.10 an hr. I live in Texas btw and the minimum is close to 525 or something. The only reason i stay is because the seniority and the fact that I can easily get away with anything. i.e. being late, calling in, taking a long break etc.  My little brother who is a senior works a rock/landscaping company making 15.00 an hr. Its fucking weak, ive been tempted to become a waiter/server whatever. o and they arent very flexible with hours while youre in school. fuckers would schedule me 3:00-11:00 every day 5 days a week while i was in High School. i also failed to mention Krogers is a grocery store.
