Posted October 20, 200519 yr yeh so i own a compaq laptop. really good deal, it came with a dvd r/rw dual layer burner. ive owned it for only half a year and its been good up until i noticed two weeks ago that my dvd drive wont read cds properly. it doesnt even that sound that its working. when i watch dvds or listen to cds, its all sketchy and sound comes in and out. i also hear the driver struggling as if the reader is malfunctioning. i also found that i have a trojan on my computer. the virus isnt related to my dvd drive problem is it? what can i do to fix my dvd drive. pls help me out here.
October 20, 200519 yr my friend had a simular problem. His optical lense was shagged. Take it to a shop to get it fixed. If you still got the waranty it should be covered. -Mz :O_o:
