Posted November 7, 200519 yr Yesterday, I headed into the Verizon store to get a new phone, as my current one was broken, and would NOT keep a charge (even after a new battery) I was looking at the LG VX9800 (http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/store/controller?item=phoneFirst&action=viewPhoneDetail&selectedPhoneId=1941) and decided it would last me a while. So, I go to purchase it... (I've had my phone for about a year and a half) and I was informed of a new policy change as of yesterday; apparently this change has locked me into this phone untill the end of my 2 year contract, which is not untill March of next year! The system would NOT let me purchase the new phone... even though doing so would be costing me 350$ AND locking me in for 2 MORE years of Verizon service. I may not understand all the dynamics which went into this policy, but it seems pretty stupid to me... I even tried going Best Buy to purchase the same phone, and when I tried, a saw a message which stated I could not purchase the new phone because it failed to meet the contract. Anyone know what I could do?

What carrier (if you have a phone) are you with Wrath? I've heard shit stories about all the US-based carriers, but after this mess with Verizon I don't want to stay with them.
November 7, 200519 yr t-mobile for the win. no problems, have been cool about cutting me a deal to upgrade phones and extend my contract by 6mo ~ 1 year, no problems with billing or shit, PLENTY of fucking minutes and text messages....really no complaints.

T-Mobile = not good in all areas though. In my neck of the woods, it has uber bad service. (New Jersey not some hick state either.)

November 7, 200519 yr hahah i have Verizon too .. FUCK THEM !!! I bought a SE47 http://www.mobiletracker.net/archives/2004/03/09/verizon_wireles.php It broke just after the warrinty.. I opend it up and found the 33pin FlexStrip (connects the screen to the phone) was broken. So i called Verizon Verizon said "Sorry we cannot help you" I looked all over the web for the part. The ONLY place that has the part will ONLY sell to Autherized Wireless Repair Centers.. so I called them... they said sorry you have to contact the manufacture. So I called Kyocera...... gonna cost more then what i bought the phone for... to mail the phone have it repared !! WTF AAAAHHHHHHHHH BUY THE FUCKING INSURENCE ( or the INCASESHIT HAPPENS ).

November 8, 200519 yr I have Cingular. I got it as a gift from a rich aunt so I have unlimited minutes and don't have to pay for anything. Service is pretty good too.

And yea t-mobile is awesome, free nights after 8 or 9 (forget) and free weekends.

November 8, 200519 yr I personally have Nextel, they're ok...the phones themselves are pretty good...free incomming calls...plus coast to coast walkie talkies....the down side...pretty shitty tower placements atleast in Ohio. Id say check with the company before making a decision based on reception....some areas will be better then others.

November 9, 200519 yr heres a tip, just dont use a cell phone, i know people who havent used them thier entire life, there about 40 years old and they dont plan on buying them iether, plus the companies only want your money.
