January 16, 200619 yr i'm bumping this thread because i agree with the idea. however im going to bring a little intellect on "Straight-Edge" I'm not straightedge because I've had my times of getting drunk and passing out. I think that being straightedge is alright and it dont bother me. straightedge is supposed to be a type of lifestyle where you dont drink, smoke, do any sort of harmful drug or at some times dont have bad sex(Like cheating or underage sex). however, "straightedge" is no longer that. straightedge is just now a trend, found in such fashion statements like goth/emo(core)/hardcore. So many little kids i see dressed in studs and black clothing with bright red hair go around saying, "Im straightedge yo, thats how hardcore i am". In fact, now all these gender-confused children have a cute little way of saying you're "sXe(oh wow, thats sooo hawt, they have a cute little abbreviation now)". The two X's on the top of your hands. OHEMGEE, THATS LIEK SOO HAWT Now, straightedge is REALLY not a lifestyle, sxe has completely become a hardcore fashion. January 16, 200619 yr straight-edge is trend that was sparked by the name of a minor threat song, although it wasn't actually endorsed by the band. they wrote the song because they were pissed off about kids under 18 not being able to get in hardcore shows because alcohol was served and they were pissed off that people were so promiscuous and didnt care about what drugs they were taking. most likely the only real straight-edgers today will never say they're straight-edge. for the record, i am not straight-edge, times have changed and it doesn't mean anything to me any more.

I am proud to say that my generation invented all that dumbshit (or most of it) so i know from experience that it will pass once you start making monthly payments on your increasing credit card statement, morgage on your house, or feeding your 7 kids.
