I'll start it off with the post I made to some homosexual before OMP deleted the FOX NEWS thread: we cant we are to busy spending $7.1 Billion on the bird flu pandemic that has killed 60 asians that sleep with their animals all this "the world is ending so lets spend a bunch of money on it" bullshit needs to stop The reason the bird flu is a real issue is because it is evolving almost exactly like the 1918 flu pandemic (this means global). The 1918 flu outbreak was the deadliest outbreak in recorded history. For example, the 1918 flu was a flu virus that initially infected ONLY birds. The current flu virus has, mostly, infected ONLY birds. There are types of influenza that hit both birds and humans equally however neither of these have ever been huge problems. The bird flu is a much more serious issue than most people think it is. It's kind of funny how people who know shit about biology talk about how it's not a threat. It's not hole-up-in-a-house serious, however it is an issue that needs to be addressed and can't be ignored. It is not something to be written off as crazy "the world is ending so let's spend a bunch of money on it bullshit." It is a legitimate possibility that this flu will kill you. The 1918 flu killed 1% of the human population. On Earth. Globally. Everywhere.
