I have been looking around the forums at exploits for breaking into a phpbb forum, but i cant figure alot of it out (like some of the stuff at milw0rm.

you need help running a script from milw0rm site? or do you need someone to explain to you how to write an exploit? make more clear

I need help running the script. all i see is coding and i dont know what to do with it. if theres another (easy) way to just get ahold of admin on that site, could anyone help?

If it weren't for the fact you posted a complete STEP BY STEP WALKTHROUGH on how to do it, I would have helped you. It's relatively simplistic, and if you don't get it now, I suggest you read up a little bit. Nobody here is willing to baby you into hacking a site. Do it on your own time.

Most of the phpbb code you find on milw0rm is php, just copy it in a text editor, save as .php and upload it to a php webserver

He posted the tutorial of the hacking he allready knew how to do. Those are for older PHPbb forums though. He doesn't understand how to hack the newer ones. I think you misunderstood him.

This is all really hard to me, all I need is something to click in my head, cause i can script on games, but the phpbb coding isnt comming to me too quickly. something like an analogy or something to make this work in my head faster would be nice.

 

i still dont understand with the milworm site. so i paste all the code into a notepad and save as a .php? then what do i do with it? just run it? i dont understand how to upload it on the site im trying to crack.

sorry for being such a shit eating nub at this, i gotta start somewhere, im trying. this is my first attempt to crack anything, besides scripting on games, which is just binding in console.

Just so you know, making counter-strike configs is nothing.

 

If you want to practice that 2.0.12 exploit, type into ask jeeves, or some other search engine

Anyway, you shouldn't start with the milw0rm exploits though. I mean, if you just want to hack that site cause you wanna show your friends what a cool h4x0r you are. Give up now, if you actually have an interest in hacking, then.

Yeah Im gonna major in networking and security when i get into college, and I want a head start into it. theres no networking classes at our bullshit highschool, so im trying to learn from here or anywhere willing to offer some sort of guidence.

 

hacking that site, to me, is just a goal im setting for myself to take the first step into learning, and im doing it to get back at the people who run the site too, killing two birds with one stone :O_o:

if your gonna major in somthing like that, trying to hack a forum is totaly pointless, esp when ur using someone elses exploit, your not being a hacker your just being a script kiddie, u dont need to hack a forum to understand a type of attack

Then where do i start? im getting an older computer set up in my house that im gonna be trying to hack. If im gonna be learning about internet security, i might as well know how malicious attacks work by doing them myself, call me a hypocrit but so far its the best idea to start off in.

and with using someone elses scripts, im trying not to do that. i know when i play games and use like maphack or aimbot, its not hacking cause all your doing is pressing a button. what i wanna know the is how the script functions. so does this mean i should look into some c++ as well?

if you really want to learn, pick up a book on a programming language and learn it well. when you are flouent in C++/perl then you can start reading the exploits on milw0rm to understand what they do.
