Posted November 30, 200519 yr AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ socket 939 Dual Core 2.2Ghz 1Mb and 1Mb Cache Or AMD Athlon 4000+ for gaming? I need a decent processor and i was told the 4000+ is better for gaming? Opinions please.
November 30, 200519 yr Author Dual cores are not good for gaming generally. Yeh, that's what i heard. But i was thinking that might be only a couple of peoples opinions? Im thinking of getting that 4000+ and i wasnt planning on overclocking.... isit as good as the dual core? Any help appreciated
December 1, 200519 yr It doesnt matter what processor you have for gaming because the game uses the graphics card having said that, I have thr 4400+ and can run bf2 at highest settings at 80+fps and still have completely responsive applications running in the background

If you want a good processor that open, even though the 400+ and the FX-53 are the same you can't OC the 4000+. If you don't care about that, then it doesn't matter. But, I'd keep my options open if I were you. Also, if you're going for long term goodness, I'd go with the X-2.
