I have found that holding Alt-F4 while loading CS:S gets me back to the desktop faster than the wrong driver installation.

Update your video card drivers, same thing happened to me but with my nvidia . Just google ati video card drivers. It should fix it, if it doesn't, just get another card.... playing with a 9000 must suck ass thought :/
