Is anyone else having trouble logging onto BF2? I log in and it comes up with some thing saying "CONNECTING TO ACCOUNT SERVER" and freezes. Is it me or a few others or everyone this is happening to?

yeah i did at like 11-12, then played 4 hours straight

No bf2 works fine....accept for shitty punkbuster causing me lag all time.

EA now port scans your comp. during the login as a way of verifying your login ID. It turns out people were logging into other peoples accounts so their weapons would get upgraded (for Speacial Forces). EA figured out that most people have similar ports open and uses it as a fingerprint for the PC. When there is a long lag, the ports don't match up to a previous login and you get bumped down in the queue. You'll also notice that sometime you get forced into a server without ever seing the server menu, this too is from timing out in queue.
