Posted August 26, 200321 yr Can anyone help me, I need help with 2 things the first one is I want to be able to code a program that will read my CD key, grabbing it like SF does is fine but I do not know how I can do this. I can code in Delphi and possibly convert VB code into Delphi (if people prefer to code in Vb). If anyone knows a rough source I could follow I'd be happy to see it. If not then a good starting point wouldn't go a miss as I am willing to learn also :) The 2nd thing I have an intrest in learning, is how to make a No Cd hack for war craft. I made one for Broodwar by loading a process and NOPing pass the "can't detect cd" Error message but seems different, again a starting pointer is welcome. I don't plan to make my own hacks and realease them, I just have an intrest in learning about them. Thanks for help.
August 26, 200321 yr Quit trying to made a no cd somebody has already made one, so go try and try and make someting else.
August 26, 200321 yr i think for no-cd's you hex edit the file.. and search for the error that comes up... "cant detect cd" blah blah... and delete it or w/e... something like that i guess... i dont know any vb or programming languages so... i cant help u there...

You can't hex/NOP out the error message as I done with starcraft. This seems different because new files replaces old unhacked ones, I looked at a no cd hacked file and it contains 2 files and its size was increased by a small amount this leads me to believe that you need to insert new code. and I don't know why you need to edit 2 files. I'm still intrested about grabbing my CD key too if anyone can help there Cheers.

August 27, 200321 yr Well I figured out the Cd grabbing thing :) all on my own :P memory address 0x56c0108 - if anyone is intrested, stores your CD key in plain text once you click on either Local area network or connect to B.net I had to build a program to read that part of the memory Yes Ahhchuu, again these things have already been made but I do not know how to make them -_- its like einstine knowing the universe exsists, he doesn't try to reinvent its or act like nothing has happend instead he asks how and why because he wants to know how exactly it works, and why it does the things it does. Maybe some day I will make some good programs that you will use but for now I have to ask questions to learn. Thanks for the links Smotpoker I will look at them in my little quest for knowledge :)
