January 12, 200421 yr A+, Cisco, Citrix, CIW(Certified Internet Webmaster), some certs with microsoft like: Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) Microsoft Certified Professional + Site Building (MCP+SB) Microsoft Certified Application Developer (MCAD), there are some others, dont know off the top of my head, Secruity+, SCJP(Sun Cert. Java Programmer). there are more but you get the point. currently teaching some programming and upgrade/repair classes at the college here.

Most jobs give two shits about certs anymore, they'd sooner higher some fucker with a BA in CS then someone who actually knows what they are doing. Tech industry is becoming a sad place these days. Idiots who dont know shit. My wife's work for example has the biggest idiot net admin in charge. Funny shit is, this lady is so fucking dumb, if they hire anyone to work with her who is smart, she fires them, so she dont look bad. My wife who does not know a damn thing about computers knows more then this lady/netadmin. Like her computer at work was making a squeaking noise and my wife told the net admin about it. This bitch was like, did you reboot it? My wife is like, umm.... how is that going to help, sounds like the fan is going out or is covered in dust. Net admin was like, ummm... no we need to let the experts handle this, I'll call Dell to come out and take a look then. So the bitch gets paid to call other people. I work with a buncha idiots like this as well, thankfully im a admin myself and dont have to rely on too many idiots.

January 12, 200421 yr 3 or 4 mcp's. i'd rather hire a person with a degree than a person with certs. i had my certs and got a job not knowing shit. just cause you have certs don't mean a damn thing. i also got bored of computers once i worked with them for 2 years. i couldn't deal with people hasseling me about stupid issues.
January 12, 200421 yr A+ qualifies you to work at best Buy upgrade and repair department...don't bother with it. myself: A+, CCNA, MCSA, NCNA(Novell certified network administrator...absolutely worthless), working on CCNP, and working on B.S. in comp sci. I'll end up piling on whatever certs my future job(s) require and pay for...probably bullshit like MCSE, MSOSE, and the like.
