January 10, 200619 yr People complain not so much about the quality of product but more the lack of competition which in turn means Microsoft are under no pressure to make better software. You can argue that people should use Apple or Linux but the fact of the matter is that means learning how to use a whole new operating system which you're unfarmiliar with (regardless of if you are, if you're new to it it will be unfamiliar) and an almost complete lack of compatibility with any software (I understand the sitatuation is different with Linux but a lot of people use a PC for gaming and this simply isn't possible with Linux OS's). What it boils down to is a Catch 22 situation where many people aren't satisfied with Windows but we don't have much choice really. The people who just mindlessly whine, however, are idiots.
January 10, 200619 yr This computer is the only one in my house which runs a Microsoft operating system. I have Debian 3.1 on my server, Ubuntu on my laptop and Redhat on my xbox. I only use Windows because I can't run CSS and shit on Linux, which means raging. The only game I've managed to get running on nix so far is GTA Vice City, and raging single player games is no fun.

January 11, 200619 yr I would imagine if Microsoft put out something like the iPod video, I imagine they could sweep the last thing away from Apple that keeps them afloat. At least until it's discovered that it's a physically weak product.... windows 98 was all right, as was 2k and XP isn't too bad... ME however was the worst.

January 11, 200619 yr being that i know alot about computer the only problem ive had with windows is ive visited sites i wasnt supposed to, downloaded programs i wasnt supposed to, or turned it off wrong. other then that i can fix everything i fuck up. windows never 'crashed' on me no BSOD (on this computer, never, shitty dell YES) windows is a good OS and linux is a hard to use piece of SHIT. XandrOS was a OK linux distro because it was easy to use if your a server running nerd get linux if you do anything else get XP and SUCK MY BIG FAT COCK.

I think a lot of people run various *NIX breeds just so they can say I RUN <blahblah> !! As if its supposed to impress you or something. However I'm sure there are people who really just like it better, and there is nothing wrong with that at all.
