Yeah, so my dad decided to shut off my internet because of one bad grade I got. At first, he started just unplugging my internet wire, and even a fool could figure out how to turn it back on. So then he realized that was wasn't working so he started doing something else...

He turned off my internet which is connect through his Linux server computer, and I have no idea how to turn it on... I need it on :( My internet wire is connected to a DSL hub, which is in turn connected to his computer/phone outlet/power source. My computer doesn't say there is a cable unplugged or anything, so it must have something to do with turning on the network for network computers. Can someone tell me, from scratch as I'm new to Linux, how to turn my internet on?

My dad uses a very old version of Linux, by the way.

The person who helps me out with this gets... something very special.

Get a list of the routing tables:

iptables -L -v

You'll need root access to remove your machine's restriction. You can get more information on how to use the iptables command line utility by running:

man iptables

If the iptables command does work, try ipchains.

Ya, study you lazy piece of shit. One bad grade my ass. Only thing that would make me believe you is if you were asian. And you clearly aren't.

get root on machine

open up console

iptables -F INPUT

iptables -P INPUT ACCEPT

iptables -F FORWARD

iptables -P FORWARD ACCEPT

iptables -F OUTPUT

iptables -P OUTPUT ACCEPT

or you could just unplug his machine and plug directly into the dsl modem

your father doesnt sound like the person who would even know how to operate an older version of linux, since he was stupid enough to try and fool you with unplugging the wire from the wall... only 1337 people can use old linux, and if your dad was 1337, he would set up a keylogger and find out that youv been breaking daddies rules and daddy would then go drag you by your tiny penis up to your room, pick you up over his head (your feet in his left hand and your upper back in his right) and he would drop your back into his knee, breaking your weak spine and stepping on your throat while you beg him for forgiveness and then he just laughs at you for being a complete disobediant dipshit. that would be 1337.

Perhaps I'm missing something, but how can you post on the 'net if your dad shut off your 'net access?
