January 23, 200619 yr I dont get this Common sense says - why not just work on the last one - as it will be the besat of both and that way you make it even better but, this jus shows that microsoft probably bug their operating systems on purpose - so ppl buy the newest one the reason they probably mentioned it is probably for stock market reasons - ppl may think the microsoft bubble is about to burst so they come out with that to secure ppl anyway - i cba with new OS's - i have xp, which was copied but iw ould have been just as happy with My millenium edition

XP was the first layman freind NT based system (windows 2000 was not backed by such heavy advertising as XP, and XP is alot more "pretty") So we have a USB friendly fairly stable windows. Huge improvement over the 95,98,me series. since all the awesome features of vista has been stripped away (console, WinFS), Vista has a single selling point that microsoft is pushing : DX10. AFAIK, DX10 will not be available for XP. therefor, DX10 games cannot be played on XP.
