Ignorance? Hah. I'm clearly stating, it's not hard to find a used (since it appears most of these ricers were purchased used) BMW for less than $25k. Low mileage, good warranty, and good preformance, as I have clearly stated, and better pussy comes with a BMW.

 

If you couldn't get the financing and afford payments on a $25k (or even save up about $5k down so it's only a $20k financed amout) then you're just plain poor or too lazy to work hard. I wasn't trying to start a flame war, just curious why every single highschool kid is so into these jap cars with random useless upgrades.

 

If you think any of those models are fast, you are sorely mistaken. People seem to view BMW as the holy grail when in fact; the fastest cars are all customized and modified.

 

Also: if those tickets are traffic tickets, you shouldn't be getting any car that is remotely nice.... or even driving at all.

If I wanted to mention holy grail level cars i'd be ranting about a Koenigsegg CCX (800+bhp stock) or a Bugatti Veyron, but i'm trying to be realistic here.

 

And by the way, the tickets are from when I was around 14 and skating at a skatepark without a helmet, add that with a failure to appear, and you have wonderful fines from LA County Juvenile Court and a hold on your license.

When I'm 25, have a stable job, and want a $25K car, I will get one. Now is not the time. Us broke college students enjoy modding our little ricers bc its all we have the funds for. Just because you own a cheaper Jap car, doesnt mean you cant show it love.

That's all I was asking for, not flames. Just wondered the reasoning. And you seem to be the exception, due to most kids actually thinking it's really cool and hip to have a cheaper car that has like 165 hp but somehow needs a foot tall wing and body kit. Personally I think it's trashier than shit, but I guess if it's all you can afford and you prefer the little mods to make you enjoy it more, that's cool.

What silly fines LA has... as far as bang for the buck goes; check out the 03+ up Cobras. Rated for 380 to the wheels, most of them dyno close to or over 400 rwhp. Considering you can get one from anwhere from 20k to 24k with less than 20k miles on it, along with a good looking body to boot!

It's a style issue man. I plan to pimp out my del sol. Its got the wimpy stock 1.5L engine, no horsepower, etc. But I plan to put on some nice wheels, get a STOCK spoiler (bc that looks best, and its modest), and repaint the thing (which, after the crash, it needs anyway). I want the car to look nice, not like a wannabe dragster.

 

That is the extent of "pimp" for me. It has a great stereo, its a convertable, gets 38.5 MPG, and (will) look nice. I don't race, or compete in anything. I drive it. What more could you want? My Advice : spend the money elsewhere on things that dont depreciate, like land or a house.

I dont know, I just cant find myself even slightly admiring those types of cars, they just look too cheap to me, but that's what I get for living where I do and being around the shit I live around, expensive taste. The only reason i'd end up in one is if I lost my job and gas was just a kick in the teeth every time I filled up. And i'd definitly take off the fucking spoiler if it had one, just tacky and unnecessary. For now, i'd prefer luxury seeing the amount of time I spend in a vehile daily in traffic and shit, so a omfortable interior and a nice stero in something that looks good is awesome for me. I dont really need 450bhp, that accelleration will only get me to the other side of the intersection where I sit in more traffic.

I like how you did springs but not struts, I like how your engine 'mods' consist of the most basic of the basic (i bet it took a lot of effort to put that intake on there), I bet that rear spoiler REALLY helps with all that down force (which you need since you probably make 350+ at the wheels, in a FWD car)....You should have spent all the money you put into that SwEeT BoDy KiT, and bought something worth a damn.

 

Do you REALLY think, FX could design body parts for your car that were BETTER than what a team of factory engineers produced?

 

Do you really think that with your STOCK motor, that your intake box was the problem? I mean, you're basically saying that 100 mazda engineers were so stupid, they couldn't design the BEST intake box for their stock motor. And that this company was able to design a BETTER intake for your car, in probably 4 hours. Yea right. An intake is something you do, AFTER you've modified the engine, not before.

 

It's kinda like when trucks put their tail gates down, because they think the toyota engineers 'overlooked' that fact that there's a tailgate in the wind tunnel. Mythbusters did a thing on it, and found out that with the tailgate down you actually lose about 2mpg.

 

...so yea, you're car looks like ass, probably drives like ass, and i know it sounds like ass. But hey, it's all cool because you got those BITCHIN tail lights!
