HA you think youve got problems... i checked into the lx... the guy wants 1100 and its got BULLET HOLES in the body... two in the panel between the door and the rear quarter glass... one in the UPPER FRAME of the door and one in the roof where the door meets... i laughed in his face when he told me what he wanted. First off the car is rusted and in bad need of a clutch.. not the clutch quadrant cable that the standard mustang NON-SHIFTER is famous for stretching, but the actual clutch.. the guy tells me that he parked it when the clutch went out but there are signs of that being bs. There are BIRDSNESTS under the hood. This car will need atleast 2500 in paint and bodywork.. then theres the 300 clutch assembly (might as well get the whole thing just to be sure) then the trouble of pulling the engine out, apart, and checking everything... if he's full of it about the clutch theres no telling what else he's bsing me on. Add that to the fact that i realy dont know any reputable mechanic shops/body/paint shops here in b-ham, which means that i have to trailer this bitch about 170 miles back to the sticks back in miss to where i know folks. This isnt a bad project car but for 1100 ... he can keep it. I made him a 600 offer, he's gonna talk it over with his dad and get back to me (so he sez).

 

Now if memory serves me there's someone on these forums from b-ham, and i hope he knows the inside scoop on a few places around this fkn place. If he would just be so kind as to pm me or something w/some info i'd appreciate it gr8ly.

hey if you need a FAST project car i have one for sale...91 LS Integra....ill sell it to you for $1000....needs both front fenders and is VERYYY clean on inside.....runs like a fucking charm. Having to get rid of this project cus of no room or money flow to it. Has a B18a1 and slap on a B16a2 head and BOOM you have a LS/VTEC engine that has a good evening of torque and high rev rpms =D...

(putting fenders on any engine mods required before said fenders are put on...etc. etc.)

Im off to do a little research into what a 91 ls integra is capable of.

I am seriously considering your offer... but with out a litte more info I can't really commit to anything now can I? Also on a scale of one to ten with one being a little paint needed to ten being total reconstruction how bad is the front end damaged?

its ok bro... i got a call from the kid... he said that his dad thought that 600 was a little short considering all the work thats in the motor... so ima go talk to him tuesday after work and see what kind of deal we can work out.

when the engine is swapped...if done properly and with #care and #love.....it can be done easily, and thats whats been done. I might actually be getting this 240sx if he wants to bite a chunk outta my savings account(wanting 9.4grand)...= [

ALMOST 10GRAND....jesus.. you can get an LS1 equipped vette w/moderate mileage/wear-n-tear for that much. I dont know how you feel about vettes.. but seems to me that other than the novelty of pwning folks in a v8 powered 240, i'd have to stick w/the vette.. but hey its your money and your choice. :gaysex2:

 

Know anything about a factory turbo 280 z. theres a tan/orange one in my apt. complex that is for sale... looks to be in gr8 condition. even has the turbo emblems on the sides of the fenders... Ive looked on the net recently for any info as far as problem areas and whatnot.. (kinda like how they did the rx7 from the early to mid 90's when they skyrocketed in price):wtcslap:

a vette engine in a 240... impressive... don't need to worry about keeping the tires stuck to the ground in that... I wonder how much weight it put on the front end.

not really, the ls1 goes in just about everything. 240's, rx-7's, miata's, s10's, i mean people swap the hell out of them. It's kinda like seeing a supra with one big turbo instead of two 'small' ones, while it may be fast it isn't real impressive. Are you impressed when you see a top fuel dragster run 5's? Not really...because that's just what they do. It's sort of the same thing, it's just common.

lol...i was thinking the same, BUT then again there are a fucking lot of rx7's with LS1 and LST swaps done around town.....and not sooo many 240's....(1 ive seen in pensacola myself)

well, im done upgrading my GST and i took it to Holt tonight and my best time was a 7.85...which is fucking awesome at only 16psi boost =D

 

its now painted gunmetal silver and i have black rims <3

im finally done with the six bolt swap and this motor is killa....ill be pushing 22psi soon at 3grand rpms =D

Tomtheman70's CRX Si in the front and my 240sx SE in the background. It has a cheap intake, Tanabe exhaust, Tokico Blues and expensive tires on shitty rims. I'm getting s15 meshies on sunday and a 2 plate Excedy clutch next week. After that it's getting Tein Super-Flex 14 way adjustable coilovers, and a welded rear diff. Right now the interior is stripped and I removed all the sound deadening, in all I've taken about 200 or so pounds off the car for free...

Those cars are fun when they dont break, not slow, but not fast.... I could litteraly come over there and tear down the (manual) transmision, turbo, drive axels, brakes, head on your car, because they are shit on wheels, everything breaks.

 

I see one mistake /w your car, you have a cold air intake that is sitting in the engine compartment, this will suck in hot and cold air randomly making your car misfire.

 

Re route your cold air intake somewhere where this will not happen.

#2, buy 409 taylor wires

#3, buy denso iridum spark plugs

#4, keep that son of a bitch turbo stock, or everything around your motor will break.

P.S. when you get some money, go out and buy a Mitsubishi EVO MR edition; and put a turbo smart BOV on it, denso iridum plugs and call it good.

Make a video at the drag strip next time.... so we can verify that number.

Take your whole front clip/bumber etc off and fabricate a new one that sucks in air and is rain resistant.... It will make your car more responsive; and it wont look as childish when you pop your hood.

 

Probly could vacuum mould somthing out of polycarbonate or ABS for for a big ass air collector where the front bumper is located, or look around for somthing to buy; ducting should be easy if it is fabricated correctly.

 

It would also be a good idea to copy the EVO hood thing to vent the heat coming off of your turbo/ehaust in the front of your motor, while adding shielding to direct air coming from your raditor into it, going out the top of your hood.

 

Lots of work, not a lot of cost ya know.
