January 26, 200619 yr I use firefox but tbh it hardly makes a difference to your intraweb experience. Except the cute fox thing. I can go on almost any warez site with firefox. I reformatted a couple weeks ago, and the second i went on one with ie(before i reinstalled FF) I got spammed to shit with porno, zone alarm and NaV were going nuts and i had to system restore. Never again will i use IE.
January 26, 200619 yr chubr0ck']Take it that IE still controls 80% of the browser market I would think they don't give a shit about "challenging" Firefox. firefox is slowly taking over
January 26, 200619 yr `Zodiac']I'm sorry, but this is old. This was posted on Neowin on the 22nd (4 days ago, but 3 days as of your posting this.). Also, this is not the full IE7 Beta 2. This is IE7 Build 5299 which is NOT the full Beta 2. This build does not have all of the features of the actual Beta 2 release (which isn't making its private beta test launch until around mid February) will have. Also, when you said "Source," I thought you meant source code as well. Apparently, according to several sources, Source Code IS available out there for IE7 Build 5299. But yeah. You ***s that just noticed that it has Tabbed browsing should shoot yourself. If you keep current some what at all would know that upon the concept of Windows Longhorn and IE7 (both being launched at the same time, as well as Windows XP SP3, IE7 was said that it will incorperate tabbed browsing. What's more concerning (that I have noticed), is that the RSS feed features look rather familiar to me >.> But hey! At least they finally got rid of those Win95 icons! its posted 3 days ago and its old? stfu plz
January 26, 200619 yr d0wn']its posted 3 days ago and its old? stfu plz Compared to the fact that it spread all over the internet over 3 days ago, I'd say we're behind the curve a bit. So to harmless Tampon: KEEP CURRENT WITH YOUR SLASHDOT!
January 26, 200619 yr Said it all. Since IE still holds the majority of internet users, I'd say they've BEEN challenging Firefox for sometime now. Also, since it's a default for windows, most people don't even know of the existance of other browsers. Also, since most Windows users aren't to "schooled" on computers, I'm sure most don't even care about other ones. I'm going to have to say that IE will be ahead of Firefox with a larger userbase for a long time to come.
January 27, 200619 yr i said do you think it can challenge it in terms of quality, as in should i stop using firefox and go back to ie. now i've had the chance to try ie7 i doubt i will be going back
January 27, 200619 yr As more people use IE its obvious which one is better. All other arguements fail.
January 28, 200619 yr The ONLY reason FireFox hasn't taken control is this... All computers bought from BestBuy, CircuitCity, Gateway, Dell, HP/Compaq...etc and new copies of Windows XP have IE already integrated within themselves... So why would anyone WANT to switch? Because IE sucks... But most people are too stupid to challenge that there is a better web browser out there and actually change thier habits to something a little new and inviting like FireFox. I dont use IE ever. I still have it on my system for Windows Update but thats it. I've installed the "View this page in IE" plug in for FireFox 1.5... something IE has yet to creat - yeah PLUGINS... simply unheard of. This is just Microsoft's last ditch effort to squash the fox. They obviously fail miserably and FireFox has done a better job in my opinion at creating a versatile web browser. If Windows didn't come with IE already on it, there would be ALOT more FireFox users as they would have to actually download / install a browser. FireFox > IE It's just that 80% of corporations have IT Security Policy's that don't allow them to change thier browsers - so many goverment organizations and corporations where people use corporate computers under a simple User profile other than an Administrator don't have a choice. The facts about FireFox are lame... since most people don't even get the choice of what they want to use at work. There solved.
January 28, 200619 yr If Windows didn't come with IE already on it, there would be ALOT more FireFox users as they would have to actually download / install a browser. .....download / install without a browser to download / install? how? ......look up "web browsers" in the "yellow pages book" and download from an ftp site?
